Rs. 3 Million J.A. Zaman Memorial Open Golf Championship 2019 continue in full swing

Among many professional golfers participating, Shabbir Iqbal maintains his lead on the second day with a two-day aggregate off 133 of 6th J.A Zaman Memorial Open Golf Championship which is in progress at Lahore Gymkhana Golf Course in Lahore.

Shabbir Iqbal's excellent golfing skills are being reflected from the very first day in his score of gross 65, seven under par to which he ought to maintain his lead as he fired an impressive four-under 68 on the second day that makes it a two-day aggregate off 133.

His nearest rival stands, Talib Hussain with eight strokes adrift. Shabbir seems in a strong position to defend the title for the fifth consecutive time as despite a double bogey on the fourth hole, Shabbir hit five birdies to maintain his lead on a day when Talib was superb in his five-under 67 that featured an eagle on the seventh hole and six birdies.

While another known golfer of Pakistan, Matloob Ahmed also shot a 67 on Friday and is third on 144, a stroke ahead of Akber Mehroze. Four golfers sit at 146 namely Mohammed Naeem, Danyaal Jehangir, Mohammed Munir and Muhammed Qasim.

In the Amateurs’ category, Ahsan Khawaja’s 145 is leading ahead of Ghazanfar Mehmood (150) and Raja M.Israr (157). 

Overall 240 golfers are featuring in this mega golfing event to which Hamid Zaman, the pioneer of the championship, stated that in addition to the cash prizes the golfers would also have a chance to win a luxury car with a hole-in-one performance. There will also be an event for Under-21 Professionals for which Rs. 225,000 prize money is on offer. While the Senior Professionals are offered a prize pursue of Rs. 350,000.
