Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi along Santiago secure Runner-up spot of New York Open 2019
Pakistan’s tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Mexican partner Santiago Gonzalez secured runner-up spot of New York Open in USA.
Pakistan’s tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Mexican partner Santiago Gonzalez secured runner-up spot of New York Open in USA.
The unseeded pair of Aisam and Gonzalez, ranked 67th and 57th, respectively, was beaten by the German duo of Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies by 2-0 with the final score line of 4-6, 5-7 in the final of this ATP-250 event.
Earlier in the semifinal PAK-Maxican pair overpowered Adrian Mannarino & Hugo Nys of France with the final score line of 6-4, 3-6, 12-10.
Qureshi reached a high ranking in doubles of No. 8 in 2011, has won 18 tournaments, and has reached the quarterfinals or better in each of the four Grand Slams.
This was his eleventh consecutive year in the US Open doubles draw; his best performance was reaching the US Open men’s doubles finals in 2010. Qureshi has also reached the quarterfinals or better for mixed doubles in six Grand Slams.
PAK-Maxican pair of Aisam & Santiago will now participate in the Delray Beach tournament which is schedule to be held in USA from 20th February.
