POF U-19 Futsal Tournament successfully concludes
Arsalan Club defeated Night Eagle Club 1-0 in the final of POF Under-19 Futsal Tournament which concluded successfully at the newly inaugurated futsal ground in Wah.
Arsalan Football Club won the U-19 Futsal Tournament as the team earned a hard fought victory over the opponent, Night Eagle Football Club by a narrow margin of 1-0. Although the win came through the narrowest margin but it was a much deserved win for Arsalan FC as players from both sides were not allowing to score at each other's ends due to the excellent goal keeping and great defence of the team players but at the end, it was Arsalan Football Club who came out to stand on the top spot claiming the tournament.
A new and high facilitated futsal ground, park and a library has been constructed by Station Engineer Department of Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) that were inaugurated by POF Board Chairman Lt Gen Sadiq Ali, HI (M) who inaugurated the futsal ground while Park and Library were inaugurated by Mrs Sadiq Ali.
Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), a Firearm Company, organized the 19-day long Futsal Tournament for the boys of 19 years of age. This tournament featured several football clubs players from which were seen competing with all their power so as to earn the ultimate title of the tournament. Some of the participating clubs were: Shahkar FC, Zamidar FC, Arsalan FC, Night Eagle FC, Falcon FC, Spurs FC, AL Azb FC, Hafeez FC etc.
A large number of POF officers, staff and players attended the ceremony in which POF Sports Control Board Secretary, Asad Durrani presented tournament thanked the POF Board Chairman on behalf of all the players for providing sport facilities to the players for their healthy activities. He also announced to arrange another futsal tournament for the boys of 12 years of age in March.
Lt Gen Sadiq congratulated POF Sports Board for making the best arrangement for the tournament and advised the youngsters to take part in the healthy activities in their free time so that they may keep them away from negative activities. He then gave away prizes among the high achievers of the tournament.
Haroon Saif Afridi of Arsalan Football Club was declared the best player of the finale and Chairman POF Board awarded him with Rs. 20,000 cash for his high achievement.
