4 member Pakistani Squad to feature in 6th Turkish Open Taekwondo Tournament

The Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) has named four (4) fighters who will compete in Turkish Open Taekwondo Tournament 2019 which is all set to begin today and will continue till 17 February in Antalya, Turkey.

As informed by Wasim Janjua, PTF President, The Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) have decided on a four member taekwondo squad that will feature in the 6th Turkish Open Taekwondo Tournament along with three officials.

The squad includes: Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Owais, Hussain Anjum and Arif Ullah Khan are the four athletes selected to compete in the event while the three officials are: Sami Ullah (Team Manager), Talha Junaid (Coach) and Muhammad Sohail (Assistant Coach).

PTF President said the main objective is to prepare top athletes for the forthcoming international events including the Olympic qualifiers. “The exposure to play against foreign athletes would help our top athletes learn latest techniques and skills which would be beneficial for future international events.” 

He said it would also help the management of the federation to monitor their standard and improvement. “The PTF is highly obliged to the government for issuing NOC for participation in the event.”
