Matloob, Taimoor & Asad crown 10th Chevron DHA Karachi Cup All Pakistan Open Golf C'ship titles
Rs. 2 Million Chevron DHA Karachi Cup All Pakistan Open Golf Championship 2019 concluded successfully as several golfers claimed the titles in their respective categories at Defence Authority Country and Golf Club (DAC&GC) in Karachi.
At the top stands Matloob Ahmed who successfully defended his title as he finished with a three-day aggregate of 204 (-12). He carded a superb round of 68 on the final day and claimed the victory by a big margin of eight strokes over his talented opponent Muhammad Shabbir who was unable to mark his final win. He carded 74 on the final day and finished on a joint second spot with Shahid Javed Khan both finishing with 212 (-4).
While the Amateurs title was clinched by Taimoor Khan who won ahead of Zohaib Asif whereas in the Amateurs’ Net category Asad Ullah toppled over Joon Park who now stands on the runner-up spot. Asad Khan won in the Junior Professionals category while Muhammad Akram won the Senior Professionals title.
Aania Farooq was crowned the Ladies title with Omar Khalid winning the Juniors' title. Humera Khalid and Hamza Gheewala were the runners-ups, respectively. Syed Navaid Ali reigned supreme in the Seniors’ category while Azhar Abbas was the runner-up.
Col Shahid Mehboob with his great effort managed to win the top position of Veterans’ category and was followed by Asghar Ali Khan. Abdullah Badar won the Masters event ahead of Sameer Saeed.
The 2019 edition of Chevron DHA Karachi Cup All Pakistan Open Golf Championship was organized under the supervision of Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) featuring about more than 400 golfers including Pakistan’s top professionals such as Matloob Ahmed who defended his title and Pakistan’s No. 1 Shabbir Iqbal. The other professionals and amateurs from all over the country were also the part of the event.
The main contest featured Professionals and Amateurs and more contests for Senior Professionals, Seniors, Veterans, Ladies, Juniors and Masters were also held. This championship carried a prize purse of Rupees 2 million of which Chevron Pakistan Lubricants (Private) Limited, a manufacturer and distributor of premium lubricants in Pakistan, largely sponsored this event and thus was the title sponsor of it as well.
