Pakistan XI win Kashmir Basketball Cup 2019 opener

Hassan led Pakistan XI team to victory in the opening match of Kashmir Basketball Cup 2019 which is being played at Arambagh Basketball Court in Karachi.

The 2019 Kashmir Basketball Cup is being organized by Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Welfare Association in two different categories of seniors and juniors. The juniors' matches are currently held into the tournament while the seniors' matches will commence from 12th February.

Pakistan XI basketball team won the opening match and registered their very first win against the opponent team Kashmir XI by 40-39 on the final score line. Pakistan XI boys fought hard to earn this victory as the players from the rival team were also seen demonstrating their best skills throughout the match.  

Hassan Iqbal, Hamza and Faizan Yousaf scored most points for their team i.e. 10, 8 and 7 points, respectively along with the great contribution from their team member Muhammad Daniyal Khan's 5 points. While for the loser side, Raj Kumar scored 12 points and Zain Ul Abideen and Asad Hafeez contributed with 11 and 9 points, respectively. 

Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Arambagh, Mutahir Hussain Watto declared the event open and paid tributes to the organizers for highlighting the cause of Kashmir by holding such an event which is being held to express solidarity with people of occupied Kashmir.

Later, he announced that in March DC South Basketball Tournament will be held at Arambagh court and named KBBA President, Ghulam Muhammad Khan as chief organizer of the event.

KBBA President, Ghulam Muhammad Khan, SOA Vice President, Engineer Mehfooz Ul Haq, PTF’s Khalid Jameel Shamsi and Abdul Nasir were also present on the opening day of the tournament.
