Inaugural Inter-Club Golf Championship successfully concludes

Pakistan Golf Federation organized the very first edition of Inter-Club Golf Championship which concluded successfully at PAF Golf and Country Club Golf Course in Lahore.

This team event was organised by the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) that featured teams from Punjab’s four leading golf clubs which included: Lahore Gymkhana, Garrison Golf Club, Defence Raya Golf Club and Rawalpindi Golf Club are seen up against each other performing with their best skills of accuracy so as to earn the ultimate title of Inter-Club Golf Championship 2019.

Members of the team comprised of two professional golfers, four amateurs, two senior amateurs, two junior professionals, two boys in the age category 12-18, two ladies and also two girls falling in age bracket 12-18 with the two-day event.

Out of the four golf clubs engaged in this competition, two clubs were disqualified as per rules of the competition which required that the full 16 team members must take part in the championship to which Defence Raya Club and Lahore Gymkhana Club were disqualified because one of their team members missed out on the first day and on the final day for Defence Raya Club while for Lahore Gymkhana Club it was that their one of their team members fell ill. In the final go, the competition was reduced to two teams that were Garrison Club and Rawalpindi Club.

Over the two days of this championship, The strongest one proved to be Pakistan's top golfer Matloob Ahmed of Garrison Club, in the first round he came up with a round of gross 69, three under par. Then he again replicated the first day’s superiority with a similar score of gross 69 on the final day proceedings. His aggregate for the two rounds was 138, six under par. 

Another one who did performed quiet well is Muhammad Saqib as his score for the two rounds were gross 77 and 78. As for the performers in boys section, 15 year old Damil Ata Ullah was at his  best playing strategies and managed to stand out with an 18 holes score of gross 69. While the Women’s category crown was managed by Suneyah Osama and Girls’ section impressionable one was Adina Sohaib. For Rawalpindi, Muhammad Munir made his presence felt in the professionals’ category. His score for the two rounds was 71 and 73. Khalid Mehmood was declared the best player in the Amateur category whereas Atif Fareed was declared the best golfer in the Seniors’ category.
