Amir, Sehrish & Ali secures top spots in Commissioner Karachi Marathon 2019

As many as 4500 Karachiite participated in this one-day Commissioner Karachi Marathon 2019 which concluded successfully at Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in Karachi.

A ten-kilometer marathon was held by Karachi administration in which about 4500 people took part. The marathon begun from Moin Khan Academy Khayaban-e-Tipu and passed through Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue, Captain Farhan Shaheed Park, Khayaban-e-Ettihad and Khayaban-e-Shaheen, ending at Moin Khan Academy.  

On six different places on the rout drinking water, food, first-aid, washrooms and shuttle service were also provided and in order to cope with any emergency, fire-brigade, medical facilities and ambulances had been arranged as well.

In under-19 boys 10 KM race, Amir Abbas claimed first position and he was followed by Sajjad and Arbab Tanvir finished third. While in the same age category of girls 5 KM race, Sehrish secured the top poisiton and the second spot went to Ayesha Yamin. The third position was managed by Esha Affan.

Ali Hasan won the Under-29 men’s 10 KM category with Mohammad Amjad Bilal grabbing the second spot and Mohammad Asghar finishing third. Farah came out on the top in Under-29 Women 5 KM race while Razia Bano and Maria Malik claimed second and third position, respectively.

Over-30 Men’s 10 KM race was claimed by Haroon Gill and he was followed by Isa Parya and Imran Athar who got second and third positions, respectively. Hira Dewan finished first in above 30 Women 5 KM race. Kaukab Sarwar got second and Razia Soomro grabbed the third position.

In Special Kids (Boys) 1 KM event, Mohammad Affan got first position, Rana Hasan claimed second, while Hassan Ali finished third. In Special Kids (Girls) 1 KM race, Humaira Kazim got first position, while Arry Mubarak and Maham Zehra got second and third positions, respectively. Affan stood first in Special Kids Wheelchair.

Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh was present at the closing ceremony of this mega marathon. The restoration of peace in Karachi has paved the way for holding sports, arts and crafts, literacy and other healthy activities in the metropolis said the Chief Minister while addressing at the marathon.
