3rd CAS International Karakoram Alpine Ski Cup gets underway
Turkish skier Usta Berkin dominated the men’s giant slalom category on the opening day of CAS Karakoram International Alpine Ski Cup 2019 at PAF Ski Resort, Naltar Valley in Gilgit.
Turkish skier Usta Berkin, Ukrainia’s Tsibelenko Levko and Nariichyn Andriy are the top three skiers to dominate men’s giant slalom category on the first day of the championship, respectively.\
While In the women’s giant slalom competition, Ukraine once again came out to stand on the top two spots are the two Ukrainian skiers Tikun Tetyana and Anastasia Gorbunova bagged the first and second positions, respectively whereas the very first to etch Pakistan's name on the winning list is talented international skier Umama Wali who managed thethird spot in the same category.
Pakistani Winter Olympians Muhammad Abbas and Muhammad Karim were also seen in action on the treacherous slope of Naltar and it was quiet surprising to see the Bosnian Ambassador to Pakistan, Saqib Foric racing alongside top ranking skiers.
The Winter Sports Federation of Pakistan along with Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has organized this mega skiing event of international level this time which is featuring top skiers from Greece, Afghanistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Hong Kong, UK, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Morocco, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan who are seen racing on the slopes of enchanting Pakistan Air Force (PAF) ski resort.
The athletes are racing in slalom and giant slalom categories and top national skiers from various regions and associations of the country are also be seen in action.
