Prominent professionals, who have confirmed their participation are Mohammad Munir, Mohammad Nazir, Mohammad Tariq, Ansar Mahmood, Talib Hussain, Mohammad Shabbir (Islamabad); Matloob Ahmed (Lahore Garrison); Shahid Javed Khan,. (Royal Palm); Adil Jehangir, Danyal Jehangir, Shafique Masih (Gymkhana); and Amjad Yousuf (Karachi).
Notable prominent amateurs include Wazir Ali, Mohsen Zafar, Salman Jehangir, Sardar Murad Khan, Waleed Zubair, Mohammad Rehman, Fakhar Imam, Zunair Aleem and Robin Bagh.
Overall, 90. professionals, 30 senior professionals, 15 junior professionals and 50 amateurs, 66 seniors, 45 veterans, 15 ladies and as many juniors -- 326 contestants in all -- are featuring in the three-day event.
While Rs1.2 million are reserved for the cash prizes for the professionals, the senior professionals will be vying for a total cash prize of Rs100,000 and amateurs for Rs50,000.
Hamid Zaman, the chief organiser of the event, said last year the total cash prize was Rs1.2m. On top of this, he added, a brand new 1,300CC car was also up for grabs to the participant lucky enough to score a hole-in-one on any of the allotted and assigned par three holes.
