The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Replacement Draft 2019 took place today on 24th January and there are a number of surprises in store for the PSL fans.

The star-studded player roster of HBL PSL 2019 received a further boost with the addition of the Windies T20 star trio of Andre Russell, Dwayne Smith and Andre Fletcher, in-form England top-order batsman James Vince, and South Africa’s duo of Hardus Viljeon and David Wise at the Replacement Player Draft

Quetta Gladiators took everyone by surprise by their dream run in the inaugural season all the way to the tournament final. With DJ Bravo joining the team on 27 Feb, Quetta Gladiators have picked Dwayne Smith as cover for the initial matches. 

After two disappointing seasons the Lahore Qalandars are determined to make amends, Lahore Qalandars have picked Hardus Viljoen and David Wiese who can be brought in to cover for the partial availabilities of AB de Villiers, Carlos Brathwaite and Corey Anderson.

New entrants at the HBL PSL Multan Sultans have chosen a balanced squad under the guidance of the Sultan of Swing Wasim Akram. Back to back 50s at the BBL and now James Vince joins Multan Sultans for HBL PSL as a replacement for Joe Denly.

Led by Shoaib Malik, Sultans have a rich blend of youth and experience in their squad, Multan Sultans have replaced injured Steve Smith with the champion all-rounder Andre Russell.

Defending champions Peshawar Zalmi have also retained the core of their title winning side of the 2017 season. Peshawar Zalmi replace Afghanistan's Waqar Salamkheil with Windies batsman Andre Fletcher.

Islamabad and Karachi Kings did not submit their bids and reserve the right to select a player in the near future, if needed.

Lahore Qalandars – Saad Ali (middle-order batsman)
Multan Sultans – Hammad Azam (all-rounder)
Quetta Gladiators – Mohammad Irfan Jr (fast bowler)
Karachi Kings – Umer Khan (left-arm spinner)
