Ahmed Baig to feature in qualification phase of MENA Golf Tour 2019
Pakistan's top golfer Ahmed Baig will launch himself in the qualification phase of MENA Golf Tour 2019 which will commence its golfing activity from January 30th at the Ayla Golf Club in Jordan.
The Mena Golf Tour is all set to make a return this year with an exciting new look and greater prize-money, according to the tour’s strategic adviser David Spencer.
Formed in 2011 by Mohammad Juma Bu Amim, the UAE-based feeder tour quickly grew from four to 17 events, stretching outside of the Mena region and into South Africa and Thailand by 2017. It even earned the right to offer its players official world rankings points in 2016.
The top 60 from the 2017 Mena Tour Order of Merit will now gain automatic entry to the new look 2019 format, while others will have to go through qualifying school to earn their place on tour. for which Pakistan's Ahmed Baig traveled to Dubai to join the famous and prestigious Butch Harmon School of Golf, where he will undergo five days exclusive training and practice at various golf courses before launching himself in the qualification phase of the MENA Golf Tour 2019.
Ahmed Baig, one of the Pakistan golf's brilliants was also formally awarded ‘professional golfers card’ by Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) President, Lt Gen (Rtd) Hilal Hussain in a ceremony at Skyview Golf Club.
Award of the professional golf card is a huge honor for this golfer of talent and ability and will enable him to participate in open golf tournaments in Pakistan and overseas.
