Karachi wins Sindh Women Netball Championship 2019
Karachi outplayed Hyderabad 11-9 in the final to win the two-day Sindh Women Netball Championship 2019 at the PSB Coaching Centre in Karachi.
Sindh Netball Association (SNA) in collaboration with Sports Department, Governement of Sindh organized the two-day Sindh Women Netball Championship 2019 that featured a total of eight (8) teams that included 5 city teams and 3 academy teams.
Participating teams are namely stated below:
1. Karachi
2. Hyderabad
3. Mirpurkhas
4. Benazirabad
5. Sukkur
6. Elite Netball Academy
7. PNF Netball Academy
8. SNA Netball Academy
Players from the above mentioned teams were seen showcasing their talent of accuracy, dripping and shooting at the basket in this sport to achieve top honors in the championship.
Earlier, in the first semi-final Hyderabad won over Elite Netball Academy on a close call of 12-11 score line and qualify for the final whereas Karachi crushed PNF Netball Academy on 11-5 in the second semi-final to book their place in the final of the championship.
The final of the championship witnessed Karachi team displaying outstanding game and winning the championship by completely whipping Hyderabad team on 11-9 score line to which Nayaz Razia, Sumbal Zohra, Sakina Modi, Kashia Butt and Yusra Shoaib were the star players for the winner team.
While the third position went to Elite Netball Academy as the team defeated the opponents: PNF Netball Academy by 8-5 score.
The SNA gave out All Star Player awards to Affifa of Hyderabad and Shezeen Fatima from Elite Academy. Also to Karachi's Nayab Razia, Hamna of Elite Academy, PNF Academy's Mehreen Safar, Zainab Shujat and Aymen Rehman both of Elite Academy).
Whereas Hoor Ul Ain, Benazir Lashari, Eman Ahmed, Bashma Zahid, Simrah Salman and Faryal
were declared the emerging players and were awarded with cash prizes as well.
Asif Ahmed Bughio, SSP Traffic, South Karachi was the honorable chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed the trophies, medals, certificates and cash prizes among the high achievers of the championship. Also present on the occasion were PNF President, Mudassar Arain, Secretary, Muhammad Riaz, SNA Secretary, Ajaz ul Haque and President PSSOC, Gohar Raza.
