Islamia University, DC Khyber white start Tabdeele Football Cup-2019 campaign with a win
Islamia University and DC Khyber White got a flying start after securing a convincing one-sided 5-0 and 3-0 on the opening day of Tabdeele Football Cup-2019 at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium, Peshawar.
Islamia University and DC Khyber White got a flying start after securing a convincing one-sided 5-0 and 3-0 victories against their respective rival PK-72 Tigers and North Waziristan Agency on the opening day of the second edition of the colourful Tabdeele Football Cup-2019 which got under way here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium, Peshawar.
Senior Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Atif Khan, Adviser to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Provincial Spokesperson Ajmal Wazir, MPA Engr. Fahim Khan, Director General Sports KP Junaid Khan, Additional Assistant Commissioner Landi Kotel Imran Khan, Director Sports Tribal District Muhammad Nawaz Khan, former Pakistan team skipper Basit Kamal, Gohar Zaman, District Nazim Town-1 Zahid Nadeem, players, officials and large number of spectators were also present.
The opening ceremony was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Qari Rafique, followed by National Anthem wherein children carried the flags of Asian Football Confederation (AFC), FIFA and National Flag, followed by a grand theme song sung by Waheed Achakzai of the Tabdeele Football Cup-2019.
The players of Islamia University, PK-72 Tigers, DC Khyber District White, North Waziristan Agency were introduced to the guests. Chairman Organizing Committee Shahid Khan Shinwari, a former international footballer, was also present.
Speaking on this occasion, Senior Minister KP Muhammad Atif Khan lauded the efforts of the organizing committee for holding the 2nd edition of the Tabdeele Football Cup-2019 in which national and international players from across Pakistan and Afghanistan are taking part.
He said the government is very keen to facilitate the youth and have fully focused on that that is why Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed them to construct 1000 grounds across KP and Tribal Districts. He said the youth of tribal district have good talent and we want to bring that talent to the main pool so that they could come up at national and international levels.
He said soon they are going to organizing a mega Games for the youth, both male and female of the tribal districts. He said the government is fully utilizing its energy and resources to facilitate the youth who are the real builders of the nation.
The match was started on fast tempo and soon Islamia University team took the lead through left winger Asim on the field attempt in the 11th minute. After taking the lead, Islamia University made some good rallies of attack and succeeded in scoring another goal on the field attempt when Uzair slammed in a beautiful goal to make the tally 2-0.
On the other hands, PK-72 Tigers after conceding two goals, managed their position to reduce the margin they made some rallies of attacks and got chances to reduce the margin but Islamia University goal-keeper Said Rehman thwarted as attempts. At half-time Islamia University team was leading by 2-0.
The front-line of Islamia University scored three more goals when Shahid (80m), Ihtisham (82m), Asim (86M) scored one goal each to make the tally 5-0.
For PK-72 Tigers goal keeper Sadam, forwards Adnan, Shah Nawaz, Babar, Huzair, Zia Shinwari, Haider and Israr also played well but failed to score any goal and thus Islamia University won the match by 5-0.
In the second match DC Khyber White defeated North Waziristan Agency by 2-0 in a another thrilling match. North Waziristan Agency played well but their forwards missed couple of goal scoring chances and thus they conceded two quick goals in the first session when first right winger Javed slammed home a beautiful goal on the field attempt while Asad scored the second goal to make the tally 2-0 at half-time.
It was the second session in which DC Khyber White dominated the proceedings and scored another goal when right winger Javed scored team's third and his second goal on the field attempt to make the tally 3-0. Anwar Khan, Abdur Rehman, Zeeshan Khan, Akram Ullah, Dilawar Khan, Allouddin and Zakir supervised the matches while Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah acted as match commissioner.
Shinwari Stori is defending the title. Besides Shinwari Stori, Shams Green, DC Khyber Green, Young Stars Bajaur, Hayatabad Champion, Peshawar Youth Stars, Khyber DC White, Khyber DC Blues, PK-72 Tiger, North Waziristan, Kurram Shaheen, Islamia Zalmi, Star Jangal Khail, Kohat are taking part.
