Losada’s five goals give Dollar East win in Punjab Polo Cup
Jan Cruze Losada struck fabulous five goals to guide Dollar East/Master Paints to 9½-5 triumph over Diamond Paints in the inaugural match of the Borjan Punjab Polo Cup 2016 played here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Tuesday.

Losada played exceptional polo and managed to score five impressive goals for Dollar East/ Master Paints, , while remaining four goals came from Hamaza Mawaz scored two while Sufi Farooq and Bilal Haye scored one goal each. For the losing side, Santiago Cernadas played quality polo and struck four goals but his heroics couldn’t save his team from the loss.
Dollar East/ Master Paints started the match on a high note scoring two tremendous goals – both were field goals and converted by Hamaza Mawaz Khan – to provide them 2-0 lead but Santiago Cernadas of Diamond Paints Level the match with his two goals . The second chukker saw Jan Cruze Losada coming to the front to save his team and slammed a sterling goal on 60-yard penalty hit, he is real hero of the match he strengthen the lead to 5-3 before the end of the second chukker.
Santiago started the third chukker well by scoring a goal through 60-yard penalty hit to make it 5-4. After that Bilal Haye from Dollar East / Master Paints scored his first goal through field goal to increase the lead to 6-4. Sufi Farooq converted a field goal beautifully to strengthen his team’s lead to 7-4, then Santiago Cernadas of Diamond Paints score a fabulous field goal but before the end of the chukker Losada scored a beautiful field goal and make sure his team lead is 8-5. One goal was converted in the highly-charged fourth chukker. Juan Cruse Losada hit his fifth goal. Howard Smith and Ben Turner were the umpires while Matias Vial Perez was referee.
Meanwhile Lahore Polo Club P(LPC) President Irfan Ali Hyder, preside an executive committee meeting for arrangements of Borjan Punab Cup Final and Qauid e Azam Goald Cup. In meeting members Umer Niazi, Agha Najeeb, Ali Malik, Saqib Khan Khakwani, Secretary Col (r) Shoaib Aftab, also presented. Irfan Ali Hyder spokes that Lahore is knows for high quality polo in the world. People from all over world came to watch polo at Lahore polo club and this is great honor for club. In this season we have already lot of people around to see quality polo matches played at Lahore polo club.
Today (Wednesday), First Match Barry`s will take on Learning Alliance in the first match of the day at 2:30 pm while in the second match of the day, Al-Khan/ Guard Filters will vie against Army Remounts at 3:30 pm.
