Salma, Baqir & Shakeel secures top spots in 8th Indus Water Cross Jeep Race

The 8th edition of Indus Water Cross Jeep Race concluded successfully with several racers recording wins at Hund point near Swabi Interchange on Motorway M-1.

The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP), the Frontier 4x4 Club and the Swabi District Government jointly organized the 8th edition of Indus Water Cross Jeep Race in which the participating racers tried their level best to cross the tough water track in the shortest possible time, but a few were lucky enough to win the race. 

Over 100 jeep racers, including women drivers and motorbike riders were seen show casing their incredible driving skills in this race which was conducted on a tough and rough track of stones and rocks of 17 kilometers distance that had been established over the waters of mighty Indus River for the jeep racers.

In Women Category, Salma Marwat took the first spot covering the track distance within 15:38 minutes followed by Asma Siddiqui who managed the second position with 19:44 minutes.

Whereas Baqir Shah stands on the first spot with 12:33 minutes in the Category A and he is followed by Tariq Khan who managed to cover the track distance within 13:03 minutes and the third spot in the same category went to Shehzad Sattar with his 13:42 minutes of total distance.

Similarly, in Category B, Shakil Barqi got first position after he covered the track within 13:44 minutes with Nasir Khan taking the second spot with 13:48 minutes. Also, Tariq Migsi got third position with 13:58 minutes.

Iftikhar Zarin, Sardar Hassan and Usman Nadeem are the 3 top position holders of the C Category with their total track coverage of 14:21, 16:36 and 25:11 minutes, respectively.

Raza Jan also grabbed first position by covering the track within 11:47 minutes followed by Sohail Khan’s 14:49 minutes track distance which enabled him to claim the second spot and Saqib Tawana clinched third position with 19:47 minutes in Category D.

The event was aimed at providing an opportunity of entertainment to the local people and highlighting the tourism potential in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to lure more tourists to the scenic spots of the province.

This event has now become a regular feature as the TCKP in collaboration with the Frontier 4 X 4 Club is organizing the thrilling jeep race on the waters of Indus River every year. The TCKP has earlier also conducted the first-ever paragliding and rafting activities, train safari tours for families, City tours, zip-lining, water sports at Khanpur Lake and many other activities in the province successfully.

The winners of the race in each category were awarded with trophies.
