District Jhang Slingshot & SQAY Martial Arts Championship 2019 from tomorrow
Traditional Sports and Games Association Pakistan (TSGAP) is organizing the District Jhang Slingshot & SQAY Martial Arts Championship into this year that will roll into action from tomorrow in Jhang, Punjab.
Jhang District SQAY Association and Pakistan SQAY Federation in joint efforts with Pakistan Slingshot Federation (PSF) is organizing the District Jhang Slingshot & SQAY Martial Arts Championship under the supervision of Traditional Sports and Games Association Pakistan (TSGAP).
A slingshot is normally a small hand-powered projectile weapon. The classic form consists of a Y-shaped frame held in the non dominant hand with two natural-rubber strips attached to the uprights. The other ends of the strips lead back to a pocket that holds the projectile. The dominant hand grasps the pocket and draws it back to the desired extent to provide power for the projectile—up to a full span of the arm with sufficiently long bands.
While Sqay is a South Asian Martial arts form of sword-fighting originating in Ancient Kashmir. Presently divided with India Pakistan and China.Armed sqay makes use of a curved single-edge sword paired with a shield, or one sword in each hand. Unarmed techniques incorporate kicks, punches, locks and chops.
Sqay is a recognized sports of ministry of youth affairs and sports Government of India more than 40 countries are regularly conducting championships in sqay.
