SSB Cup Quaid-e-Azam Basketball Tournament enters quarter-final stage
Nishter Club and Neighbourhood Club outscored their respective opponents advancing to the quarterfinals of SSB Cup Quaid-i-Azam Basketball Tournament which is being played at Arambagh basketball court in Karachi.
The first pre-quarter game saw Neighborhood Club struggling to continue the winning streak against Karachi Youth basketball team as the players were hardly making mistaking and were not allowing them to come forward to mark scores.
Neighborhood Club player’s speed did not disappointed them as they finished the match in a hard fought win by 51-34. Asad’s 15, Ali’s 13, Halar’s 9 and Fahad’s 8 points earned their team the victory of the match.
However, the losing team made quiet good efforts through their star players Fawad Amjad who scored 13 points along with Rizwan’s 10 pointsand Mohammad Subhan who managed 8 points into the basket.
Also, Nishter Club fought hard over the host club Arambagh team and won the match by 58-40 total score. Talha, Faraz, Waqar were the key players in the win for their team.
Even Saad, Asad and Shariq managed to get successful in their shots 10 times and Hassan with 8 still did not get to earned their team the win of the match and thus lost their chance to move to the quarter-final stage of the tournament.
Professor Huma Tahir, renowned writer and poet was the honorable chief guest and she appreciated the efforts of Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) for holding the event in the name of our Father of our Nation.
This tournament has been organized by Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) and Sindh Sports Board in collaboration with PSWA which is featuring top basketball teams from all over the city Karachi from which several players are giving their all to win the title of the championship.
