Navy (A & B) triumphant in Match Race National Sailing Championship 2018
A total of 5 teams took part in 2018 Match Race National Sailing Championship that came to a successful end with Navy A and B teams standing on first and second positions at Clifton beach in Karachi.
Pakistan Sailing Federation organized the three-day Match Race National Sailing Championship first time into the year which was hugely hosted by Pakistan Navy.
About 30 yachtsmen from different water sport clubs participated in teams comprising of five (5) in number that includes Pakistan Navy A and B, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Army teams. This race was held in J-80 class boat.
At final table points, skipper Najeeb Ullah Khan team of Pakistan Navy (A) comprising on Qasim Abbas, Khalid Hussain, Rehman Ullah and Tariq Ali won the championship and now are standing at the top spot claiming the gold medal.
Incredibly 2nd position was also grabbed by a young and innovated team of Pakistan Navy (B) comprising on Skipper Muzamil Hassan, Mohsin Ashfaq, Tofique Ahmad, Atif Razaq Khan and Ali Hussnain who bagged the silver medal.
Whereas Pakistan Air Force (PAF) managed the 3rd position as the team defeated Pakistan Army team in last day races, comprising on Skipper Muhammad Tanveer, Muhammad Sajjad, Mohammed Irfan, Naveed Ahmed and Abdul Sami. and etched their name on the bronze medal.
