Unseeded Majid Ali stun top seed Shehab to move into Last-16 of 6 Red World Championship 2018

Unseeded Muhammad Majid Ali of Pakistan reached the Last-16 stage of World 6Reds Championship 2018 with a shocking 4-3 victory over top-seed Mohamed Shehab of United Arab Emirates at Marsa Alam, Egypt.

Unseeded Muhammad Majid Ali of Pakistan reached the Last-16 stage of World 6Reds Championship 2018 with a shocking 4-3 victory over top-seed Mohamed Shehab of United Arab Emirates while Muhammad Bilal ended his journey as he lost against Alok Kumar from India at Marsa Alam, Egypt.

42-years-old Shehab got off to a flying start, taking a 3-0 lead 33-29, 45-12 and 38-10 but Majid bounced back to bring the tie by winning next three frames in a row. Even he crafted break of 69 in fifth frame too. 

The deciding frame was tightly contested and after exchange of safe shots, Majid held his nerve and scored winning shot.25-years-old Majid move into last-16 with the final score line of 29-33, 12-45, 10-38, 38-26, 69-0(69), 36-12, 37-24.

Former Asian Snooker Champion and recent finalist of World Team Snooker Alok Kumar from India defeated the 11th seeded Muhammad Bilal a strong player from Pakistan by 4-0. seeded 43 Alok made three breaks of 49, 46 and 49 in first three frames to secure 3 frames lead. 

By that time 33-years-old Bilal was seen completely dejected and pressure had mounted on him. In fourth frame he had chance to recover but instead of playing slow to pot hanging red, he played bit hard and went out of position. From there onwards 50-years-old Alok started scoring and taken lead with his tactical play.

Mid way he also placed couple of snooker to get back on scoring shot and then put himself again for a big break but before he could go for that Bilal shook hands and accepted defeat.
