Army win National Inter-Department Men’s Netball Championship title
A total of six (6) teams participated in this 3-day National Inter-departmental Men’s Netball Championship that contested from 18 to 20 December at Pakistan Sports Board Coaching Centre in Karachi.
Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) in joint efforts with Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) organized this three-day Inter-departmental Men’s Netball Championship on a national level which featured all the affiliated departmental teams such as: Pakistan Army, WAPDA, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Pakistan Police and Railways.
In the final match of the championship played yesterday at 05:00 PM, Army men defeated Pakistan Air Force (PAF) 45-32. Army’s Zahid Iqbal and Usman Bashir proved to be the star players in their team’s huge win as them with their best speed and accurate shooting skills worked with all their efforts as a team work and won the championship title.
However, PAF team was no less in their game-play and gave tough time to Army players for almost throughout the match.
Also in the third position match, WAPDA finished the match as a one-sided affair against Police on a 58-16 score-line. While Navy stands at the fifth spot by beating Railways’ team easy on a score-line of 31-10.
President Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF), Mudassar Arain, was the honorable chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the event who also awarded the high achievers of the championship with trophies, medals and certificates.
PNF also awarded the "All Star Players" award to Muhammad Akhtar (GS), Abdil Ali Ansari (GA), Mehboob Shah (WA), Ahmed Jan (C), Azhar Saleem (WD), Naseeb Raza (GD),Muhammad Khursheed (GK).
