Veteran Aqeel was outclassed by Japan’s second seed Rio Noguchi who comfortably overcame the former 6-4, 6-2.
In other second-round clashes, Britain’s Alexis Canter crushed Muzammil Murtaza 6-4, 6-2 while Ray Ho of Chinese Taipei proved too good against Abid Ali Akbar as the former registered a facile 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Aqeel and Muzammil also faced a 6-2, 6-4 defeat in doubles at the hands of the Russian-German pair of Anton Chekhov and Kai Wehnelt.
Similarly, the Russian duo of Alexander Pavlioutchenkov and Vladimir Polyakov overwhelmed the Pakistani pair of Shahzad Khan and Syed Zohair Raza 6-3, 6-1.
Meanwhile, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed National Ranking Championship is also being held at the PTF Complex in which Ushna Suhail, Sarah Mahboob, Esha Jawad and Sara Mansoor won their respective quarter-finals in the women’s singles.
In U-18 boys singles, Sami Zeb, Nalain Abbas, Ahmed Kamil, Musa Chaudhry, Abdullah Adnan, Ahmed Asjad and Hamid Israr won their second-round matches.
