KPT shockingly down K-Electric 1-0 in Pakistan Premier Football League 2018
KPT team stuns K-Electric as they registered a 1-0 win in the match played into 12th Pakistan Premier Football League’s Karachi phase yesterday at KMC ground in Karachi.
12th Pakistan Premier Football League Qila Qasim Bagh, Multan, Punjab Stadium, Lahore, KPT and KMC, Karachi.Karachi Port Trust (KPT) men made quite a comeback and stunned the leading K-Electric team when they finally were able to beat them on a close call of 1-0 score-line.
Although it is a narrow margin win but for KPT it will save their chances from getting eliminate further in the league as following the pre-mature relegation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Bahawalpur’s Ashraf Sugar Mills (ASM), who pulled out of the event at various stages, two more teams will be demoted as per rules.
K-Electric team’s first mistake came into the very start of the match as their player Waseem was warned with a yellow card to which KPT team was given a penalty shoot. Muhammad of KPT availed that shot and brilliantly landed the ball in the back of the opponent net at the 2nd minute. But even though KPT won the match by 1 goal, the team received more warnings as the match went on.
As the winning team was seen racing the area, very little progress was seen made by the team lost even though the boys received the ball in enough space to try to make an attempt for their side but shooting with their weak foot-play didn't trouble the goalkeeper of KPT team.
“It was a good game. The boys played really well today,” KPT coach, Fareed Majeed said. “Both sides got several chances but could not strike. We were fortunate when we got penalty in the start. The win has boosted our chances of averting relegation. We are now one point clear of SNGPL who trail at the relegation zone with Baloch FC,” he added.
KPT coach is optimistic about his team’s chances of improving its position.“The way we have played in the last few games, I am confident we are in a perfect position now to pull off a few more wins in the coming days,” he said.
