Shabbir, Adil & Mustafa win titles in 33rd President of Pakistan Gold Medal Golf Championship
As many as 300 golfers participated in The Serena Hotels 33rd President of Pakistan Gold Medal Golf Championship which concluded successfully at Islamabad Club Golf Course.
The Serena Hotels once again organized yet another edition of Pakistan Gold Medal Golf Championship which was contested now the 33rd time in Islamabad. The championship drew a total of 300 Professional and Amateurs golfers from those clubs affiliated with Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) and Islamabad Club Golf Course. The Serena Hotels has been collaborating with the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) and the Islamabad Club Golf Course in hosting this championship for fifth consecutive year.
Serena Hotels has been supporting the Championship under its Sports Diplomacy initiative which aims to promote sports and sportsmanship in various segments of the society by sponsoring and promoting various sports’ events. The three-day event continued till the 27th November.
CEO of Serena Hotels, Mr. Aziz Boolani said that Sports Diplomacy is an integral part of Serena’s efforts to build stronger relations with communities. Sports bring people together and participation in sports help in improving leadership, teamwork, and communication skills along with promoting a healthier lifestyle. Golf in particular, is a demanding sport requiring athletic ability, strength, endurance, strategy and focus.
In this three-day championship Muhammad Shabbir, Asad Khan and Muhammad Akram accomplished to win the titles in Professional’s, Junior Professionals and Senior Professionals categories respectively. Whereas, Muhammad Adil stands on the first spot in Juniors A category Net and Naveed Khan in gross matches.
While Juniors B category winner is Muhammad Ibrahim in Net and Irtaza Hussain in gross matches. In Subsidiaries, Mustafa Raja secured first position in Net and Dr. Manzoor in the gross matches. Zahid Afridi managed to stand first in Net and Gulrez Shahid came first in the gross matches of Senior Amateurs category.
In the ladies category, Salza Dur-e-Falak claimed the first position in Net and Ania Farooq in the gross matches. Within the Amateurs category, Shymale Aziz came first in Net and Zuhaib Asif in gross matches.
Championship’s price distribution ceremony will be held in near future in which President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Dr. Arif Alvi, has consented to be the Chief Guest.
