Neighborhood United Club win 3rd Essa Lab Basketball Tournament title
Neighbourhood United Club earned a hard fought victory over Defending champions Karachi Basketball Club by 76-72 and won the title of 3rd Essa Lab Basketball Tournament at Arambagh basketball court in Karachi.
The final day of the tournament saw Neighborhood United Club’s surprising win of the title against Defending champions Karachi Basketball Club as the winning team’s boys blazing through the court and made them suffer the major loss on 76-72.
Karachi team was not able to defend their title although their star player Jazib made several shots becoming the main scorer with 27 points while Asad Imam and Mpoin Ahmed contributed with their 17 and 15 points each. Whereas Pilot Raja Jahanzeb proved to be the key player in the win for Neighborhood United Club emerging with 23 points with well assistance of Abdullah who dubbed 16 points and Chenway’s 14 points.
It was quite an entertaining game as the players from both sides were making hard efforts to claim the title of the tournament to which Neighbourhood United Club got successful and stole the win as well as the title.
Iftikhar Shilwani, Commissioner Karachi, was the chief guest on the final day who also distributed trophies and cash prizes of One Lac to the winners, runners up and individual players on behalf of Essa Laboratory.
KBBA President, Ghulam Muhammad, Khalid Jameel Shamsi, KBBA Women Wing patron Shahida Parveen, Mehwish Khan and Azmat Ullah were also present on the occasion.
