12th Pakistan Premier Football League Qila Qasim Bagh, Multan, Punjab Stadium, Lahore, KPT and KMC, Karachi.A much-changed K-Electric fought hard to which WAPDA came up short against them as Murtaza Hussain scored the only goal in their match. K-Electric players had done well to keep out efforts from former four-time winners WAPDA’s players.
However K-Electric threatened WAPDA briefly because as WAPDA is one of the strongest standing team in the league, the players did not allow K-Electric team to come close to their goal post despite having a handful of chances.
But K-Electric remained in control and turned the tide through their hero Murtaza Hussain in the 67th minute of the game. Despite the slimmer margin of victory, the game petered out in a low-key style with K-Electric’s surprising win over WAPDA.
Whereas the second match witnessed Pakistan Air Force (PAF) boys’ convincing 3-0 win over Baloch Footbal Club (BFC). PAF team put themselves ahead in the first minute when Samad Khan netted past a goal through several approaching footballers from BFC and at half time they were leading the match on 1-0. In the second half, PAF kept tight grip on the game and added two more goals by Mansoor Khan and Mohammad Mujahid in 66th and 73rd minutes, respectively.
K-Electric assistant coach, Mohammad Essa said.“It was a tight game. I told my boys that it would be our do or die game. If we won we would be in a position to fight for the top two places. And the boys played according to the plan.”
Today NBP will lock horns with Navy in the first match while in the second; PAK CAA team will be seen competing with Army team. The third match will be played between SSGC and KRL football teams.
