Muhammad Bilal hits highest break of 139 in IBSF World Snooker Championship 2018
Muhammad Bilal of Pakistan, entered into the knockout stage with the highest break of tournament as 139 points in IBSF World Snooker Championship 2018 at Yangon.
Pakistani cueists are performing marvelously in the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championship which commenced at Yangon where Muhammad Bilal, Babar Masih, Imran Shahzad and Muhammad Asif overpowered their respective opponents to advance into the next stage.
Winner of first championship of the Asian tour 2018, Muhammad Bilal of Pakistan, returned to his original form after two struggling days of the competition. Today(22nd Nov) he finished his match in great style 4-0 setting up the new highest break of tournament as 139.
Bilal was on verge of elimination from the group stage itself as he lost badly in first two matches of the championship. Today he had last chance to qualify from the group and he achieved it by winning his last group stage match.
Earlier Mohammad Bilal, who won the Asian Tour recently, had a dismal start suffering 1-4 loss at the hands of Ireland’s Greg Casey who won 51-88, 75-36, 40-29, 62-32, 42-16.
Bilal won all the frames one-sided curtailing South Korean player Chulho Hwang on low scoring. Even in fourth frame he went on for the massive score and set crafted break of 139 points, which surpassed the previous high break of 136 points made by Chang Bingyu of China.
By winning this match, Bilal has now entered in the knockout stage of the championship as group No.3.
Pakistan’s foremost snooker player Babar Masih overpowered Kok Leong Lim of Malaysia by 4-2 with the final score line of 27-60, 42-75, 60-48, 72-4, 80-05, 61-26 in IBSF World Snooker Championship 2018 at Yangon.
Former world champion Mohammad Asif was extended to six frames by Mongolias’s Lkhagvasuren Tumurchudur before winning the battle 4-2. Asif was home with the final score line of 2-79, 70-19, 67-21, 8-75, 85-0, 139-6.
National master’s champion Imran Shahzad prevails in 5 frames thriller as he defeated Jason Tucker of Wales by 3-2.The energetic young form wales put a shiny start as hit a break of 76 points to win the first frame by 7-82(76).
43-years-old, who is one of the most experienced cueists in the circuit bounced back magnificently and didn't allowed his opponent to play freely to sealed the second frame by availing all the opportunities to win it by 36-50.
Imran Shahzad, a member of the bronze medal winning Pakistan team at the Doha Asian Games 2013, continue his aggressive play against Jason as Imran displayed fantastic form on the way to win the second by 80-6 with a break of 60 points.
Imran Shahzad, hailing from the city of Lahore, proved too hot for Jason Tucker as he didn't allowed his age fellow play freely to win the last two frames with the final score line of (7-82(76), 36-50, 80-6(60), 76-17, 75-16).
68 cueists from 31 nations are competing vie for honors in the men’s category. They have been divided in 16 groups and the top three from each will advance into the knockout round. As many as 50 cueists have entered the fray in the master’s category.
