Jalil saves KPT to win in 12th Pakistan Premier Football League

KPT beat SSGC 3-2 while PAF holds Musim FC in a 1-1 draw in the Karachi phase of 12th Pakistan Premier Football League which is now being played at KPT, KMC and Korangi Baloch Grounds in Karachi.

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) men open their campaign in the third and last phase of the league with a hard fought win over Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) by 3-2. For a long time it looked as though they were going to suffer a first defeat in the league’s last phase but the players have now beaten the opponents and earned KPT a dramatic 3-2 win in Karachi.

Muhammad Waseem gave KPT a deserved lead in the 37th minute after they made a flying start at the ground where they had eased to victory later on as well. But from then on teams from either side were not able to score any further untill the 61 minute when Muhammad Tahir scored against KPT and equalized the score-line. But Zubair’s brilliant shot fought their way back into the game just 7 minutes later and Muhammad Jalil then smashed another off the post in the 71 minute giving KPT a 3-1 lead but SSGC’s Muhammad Tahir again struck the post 3 minutes later thus ending the match on 3-2 score-line.

Whereas the other match saw Pakistan Air Force (PAF) hold Muslim FC boys in a 1-1 draw. Sammad Khan gave PAF quiet an early lead in just 8 minutes into the game and for much of the match it did seem like PAF will be winning it even without scoring any more goals but Muhammad Jamil scored in 55th minute for Muslim FC and from then on both team players were not allowing each other’s attempts to pass through their goal post and finished the match as a 1-1 draw.

While matches played the day before, Pakistan Army trashed Baloch FC Noushki team winning with 5 goals in rows against the opponents none. Afghan FC and Pakistan Navy suffered loss against National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) by 1-0 and 3-0 respectively.
