2nd Inter Provincial Tchoukball C’ship for Men next month
A total of nine (9) teams will participate in the 2nd Inter-Provisional Tchoukball Championship for Men which is scheduled to played from 6th to 9th December at Crescent Sports Complex in Faisalabad.
Pakistan Tchoukball Federation (PTBF) and Divisional and District Tchoukball Association Faisalabad are jointly organizing the second edition of Inter Provincial Tchoukball Championship under the supervision of Spots Board Punjab. The championship is open to men only.
Tchoukball is an indoor team sport developed in the 1970s and is a kind of sport that reduces injuries when playing and is not aggressive between players. It is usually played on an indoor court with a frame at each end which is a device similar to a trampoline, off which the ball bounces and a semicircular D-shaped forbidden zone. Each team comprises of 12 players, of whom 7 may be on the court at any one time. In order to score a point, the ball must be thrown by an attacking player, hit the frame and bounce outside the 'D' without being caught by the defending team. Physical contact is prohibited, and defenders may not attempt to intercept the attacking team's passes. Players may take three steps with the ball, hold the ball for a maximum of 3 seconds, and teams may not pass the ball more than 3 times before shooting at the frame.
Tchoukball has become an international sport, played in Brazil, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, India, Italy, Spain, Japan, Macau, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United States. It is somewhat gaining roots in various divisions of Pakistan as well.
As many as nine (9) teams from all over Pakistan belonging to different provinces are taking part in this four-day championship in which boys are given chance to exhibit their skills in this unique sport.

4. Punjab A and B
5. Sindh
6. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)
7. Gilgit Baltistan (GB)
8. Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK)
Trails for Gilgit Baltistan division will be held on November 20th at City Park Hockey Ground in Gilgit at 02:00 sharp and all the selected players for the final championship will be receiving camp training from November 22nd to December 1st in Gilgit.
