Pakistan to participate in WESPA Youth Cup Scrabble C’ship 2018

The qualification rounds for the WESPA Youth Cup 2018 will be held from 17th to 18th November 2018 at the BVS Parsi High School, Karachi.

World English-Language Scrabble Players Association (WESPA) Youth Cup is an event that takes place every year in a different part of the world. Last year it was held in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia whereas this year it will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from Thursday 13th to Saturday 15th December.

The WESPA Youth Cup, formerly the World Youth Scrabble Championship has been contested every year since 2006. This championship is open to players under the age of 18 and it not only gives players the opportunity to show their Scrabble skills but it is a great way of making friends with others from varied cultures.

The qualification rounds for the WESPA Youth Cup 2018 will be held from 17th to 18th November 2018 in which there will be 2 categories of A and B. Category A will be consisting of players who have played an international tournament while B will be consisting of players who have never played an international tournament. Selection will be done from both categories. These qualification rounds will be hosted by Pakistan Scrabble Association (PSA). 

The fee for the tournament is set as 2,500 PKR to be paid on the event date. 2017 WESPA Youth Cup Champion was Aabid Ismail from Sri Lanka also Best National Team.
