Murad Tigers crown the Aamir Ghaffar Badminton league title
Murad Tigers defeated HSC by 3-1 to win the Aamir Ghaffar Badminton league at Hayatabad sports complex Peshawar.
Aamir Ghaffar Badminton league concluded successfully which was held on the visit of Former Pakistan Junior National Badminton Champion Aamir Ghaffar at Hayatabad sports complex Peshawar.
On the final day, Murad Tigers played marvelously to overpower HSC as they didn’t allow them to play freely.The winner team comprised of National Champion Murad Ali, Irfan Afridi, Yasir Asad, Waqas and Shoaib Riaz who fought hard to take commanding position and won the title by 3-1.
Earlier, Murad Tigers beats Mardan by 3-1 to book berth into the final encounter of the Aamir Ghaffar Badminton league.
However, HSC Team was headed by Zabih, Affan , Qazi safwan, Salman and Jamal. Earlier HSC defeated Fata by 3-2 in the semifinals clash at Hayatabad sports complex Peshawar.
All 24 Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in 2-days event. The league was played on team event basis while every team was comprised of 5 players which included 2 departmental players and 3 non departmental players.
Director NBF Murad Ali Muhmand graced the final ceremony as chief guest and distributed the cash prize of Rs. 50,000 among the winning teams.
Badders Club organized the Aamir Ghaffar Badminton league held upon visit of the Aamir Ghaffar who is two times England Men’s National Badminton Champion and reached world no. 21 at his peak and won Silver in 2006 Commonwealth Games. The event was sponsored by Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The organizing committee was headed by Murad Ali Mohmand (Director National Book Foundation) Mr. Jaffer Shah (Administrator HSC) Mr. Riaz Khan , Asad Ghaffar , Syed Shahzad and Ibrahim Khan.
