Essa Lab Inter-school hockey tournament continue in full swing

Two-goal Usama and Afaq helped Government Boys Secondary School to advance in the Essa Lab inter-school primary and secondary boys and girls hockey tournament at the Olympian Islahuddin-Dr Mohammad Ali Shah academy, Karachi.

Islahuddin and Dr Muhammad Ali Shah hockey academy is organising an Inter-School Boys and Girls hockey tournament and a veterans hockey league in collaboration with Dr Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre.

Two-goal Usama and Afaq helped Government Boys Secondary School PAF Masroor overpowered GBSS Muslimabad 4-0 to advance in the Essa Lab inter-school primary and secondary boys and girls hockey tournament at the Olympian Islahuddin-Dr Mohammad Ali Shah academy, Karachi.

Usama struck in the second and 32nd minute while Afaq chipped in goals in 15th and 33rd minutes in the secondary boys contest.

The GBSS Muslimabad were joined by the GBSS Gushan-e-Iqbal Block 6 after they overcome GBSS Anjuman-e-Islamya 3-1. Usman Akber (2) and Kabeer Chandio (1) earned the scoring honours for winners while Umer Faisal reduced the deficit for losers.

Government Girls Secondary School Lasbela and GGSS University Campus advanced in the second girls contest. The GGSS Lasbela registered a solitary goal victory over GGSS Malala Yousufzai with Tayyaba Muneer scoring the lone goal.

Similarly, Muskan’s lone goal helped GGSS University Campus beat GGSS Dehli Colony.

The quartet of Government Boys Primary School (GBPS) Khudadad Colony, GBPS F. C. Area, GBPS Korangi No 2 and GBPS North Karachi completed the semi-final line-up in primary boys category.

GBPS Khudadad Colony carved out 3-1 victory over Anjuman-e-Islamiya Liaqatabad with Arsalan, Shahzaib and Shahzad scoring one goal each for winners. Hasnain scored the only goal for losers.

GBPS FC Area defeated GBPS North Karachi by 1-0 with Mohammad Kashan scoring the all important goal.

GBPS Korangi inflicted 3-1 defeat on GBPS Jut Lane. Ubaid, Zain and Adnan scored once for winners while Hammad reduced the deficit for losers.

In the last match GBPS North Karachi beat GBPS Anjuman-e-islamiya Liaqatabad 1-0 with Ahmed Khan scoring the winning goal.

Meanwhile, GGPS Anjuman-e-Islamiya Liaqatabad, GGPS North Karachi, GGPS Pathan Colony and GGPS Khudadad Colony cruised into the girls last-four.

The winning team will get Rs50,000 and the runners-up Rs25,000. Olympian Sameer Hussain is the tournament director, while Mubashir Mukhtar and Tariq Khan are assistant tournament directors.
