Haripur clinches trophy of 2018 KP Full Contact Karate C’ship

As many as 120 fighters participated in KP Full Contact Karate Championship 2018 which concluded successfully at Lala Rafique Sports Arena in Peshawar.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa All Contact Karate Association (Shin Kyokoshinkai) organized another edition of KP All Contact Karate Championship this year after the successful conduction of the same championship last year as well.  

A total of 25 districts and 120 players belonging to these districts took part in this championship in which fights were held in 5 different weight categories of Light Weight, Middle Weight, Heavy Weight, Special Feather Weight and Feather Weight.

Fighters from Haripur were able to etch their name on the trophy standing on the first and won over several other districts. District Haripur was able to accomplish this win after securing first positions in three different weight categories.

Area Manager King Beverages Industries Pakistan, Tauseef Khan was the chief guest on this occasion along with Chairman KP Full Contact Karate (Shin Kyokoshinkai) Association, Sahibzada Al-Hadi, The Grand Master.

Farid Ahmad of Haripur won gold medal in the Heavy Weight category while Irshad and Zia-ul-Haqin won golds in the Middle Weight and Light Weight category. Whereas, Kamran Khan of Mardan in Feather Weight category and Zubair Ahmad in the Special Feather Weight category won gold medals.

Taking three gold medals out of the five weights categories, Haripur was declared the overall winner and was awarded the Champion trophy for the year-2018.

At the end, the chief guest Tauseef Khan gave away trophies and cash prizes to the high achievers of the championship.
