Saqib Hayat stuns second seed Arya to move into semis of ITF Junior Tennis C'ship

Pakistan’s Saqib Hayat caused a major upset by eliminating second seed Arya Roghani of Iran in the quarter-final of ITF Pakistan Junior Tennis Championships at PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad.

On the third day of ITF Pakistan Junior Championships(I)  a total of 14 matches were played at the PTF Complex, Islamabad where promising youngsters Saqib Hayat and Zoha Asim caused major upsets against their Iranian opponents in the ITF Junior Championships here at the PTF Complex on to secure their passage to the semi-finals of their respective events. 

Sixth-seeded Saqib stunned second seed Arya Roghan as the Pakistani junior was in superb form as he didn't allow Iranian player to play freely and book berth into the semifinal with the final score line of 6-3, 6-4 in the boys’ singles.

Another local hope third seed Huzaifa Abdul Rehman also made it to the last four, eliminating Briton Ronan Sani 6-2, 6-2 in their boys’ singles quarter-final.

Pakistan's Zoha Asim caused a major upset when she defeated second seed Melina Mehrani (IR) in a three-set match where both the players displayed quality tennis and showed their skills by playing excellent combination of forehand and backhand drives ut the match ended in  Zoha favor as he overcame Melina with a final score line of 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 in the girls’ singles.
