Punjab tops the table at 5th National Triathlon Championship
A total of 8 teams are taking part in the 5th National Triathlon Championship which is being held at Punjab Stadium and State of the Art Punjab Swimming Complex pool in Lahore.
The 5th National Triathlon Championship is being contested under the auspices of Pakistan Modern Pentathlon Federation (PMPF) in collaboration of Sports Board Punjab which rolled in action yesterday and will continue till November 8th.
Players from all over Pakistan belonging to different provinces and departments are participating in this event so as to get their hands on the top honors in the championship.
Following are the participating teams:
1. Punjab
2. Sindh
3. Balochistan
4. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
5. Islamabad
6. Railways
7. Police and
8. Navy
The Championship exploded into action with a colorful opening ceremony in the presence of Director General Sports Punjab, Nadeem Sarwar as the chief guest in which the top spot went to Punjab team as they triumphed in the swimming event. Whereas Baluchistan grabbed the second spot followed by Pakistan Railways in different competitions.
On the remaining two days of the championship, events of track and shooting will be held.
Secretary Pakistan Modern Pent¬athlon Federation (PMPF), Chowdhury Zahoor Ahmed said his federation is making all-out efforts for the promotion of the games in the country.
