All-Karachi Inter-School Basketball Tournament semis to begin today
Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) has organized the All-Karachi Hashmat Ullah Lodhi Inter-School Basketball Tournament 2018 which is being played at Arambagh Basketball Court in Karachi.
Nasir Academy and Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) have jointly organized the Inter-School Basketball Tournament 2018 which is featuring competitions for both girls and boys who are seen battling in the matches for the ultimate title gain of the tournament.
The tournament has been named after prominent educationist Hasmat Ullah Lodhi and various schools from all over Karachi has participated in the tournament. Sarosh Lodhi, NED Vice-Chancellor inaugurated the event in which the opening day saw four matches in row which were played between the selected players.
Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world and one of the most widely viewed. It is a team sport which is played under organized rules and the sport involves a lot of variety, including shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, defence, and a lot of starting and stopping. While not renowned as an aerobic sport, it is still a great workout that has a lot of health benefits to it as well. That is why the sport is gaining more and more popularity among the children in schools.
The two semi-finals of the tournament which were postponed due to tense situation prevailing in the city last week are now have been rescheduled and will be played today.
And the day after, the four finals of different categories will be played to decide the winners. NED Vice-Chancellor, Sarosh Lodhi will be the chief guest for the closing ceremony of the tournament as well.
KBBA President, Ghulam Muhammad has announced a price money of 25,000 PKR for the team who will be crowned as the winner of the tournament.
