Karachi Kickers and Army foil victories in National Women’s Football Championship 2018
Karachi Kickers outclassed Baluchistan 4-0 while Army thrashed KPK Football team by 11-0 in the 2018 National Women’s Football Championship which is being played at Model Town FC & Academy ground in Lahore.
After the four years of long gap, National Women’s Football Championship made a comeback and kicked off in which four teams were up against each other on the opening day of the championship.
The first match witnessed Karachi Kickers team girls exploiting the vulnerable side of Baluchistan players as they crushed them with four goals in row and left them no room to score for their side.
Losing team’s footballers missed out on several opportunities to goal as the goal-keeper from the winning team was coming out strong blocking all their attempts. Quratulain Hameed was the star player scoring 3 goals whereas a goal from Rimsha also contributed in the win for Karachi team.
Whereas the second encounter was the worst possible start for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa football team as Army players thrashed them on a 11-0 score-line.
Roshnan and Swaiba brilliantly netted 3 goals each while Mishal, Fatima, Kiran and Nina slammed 2 goals each, right into the opponent’s net. KPK team players were not able to score a single time into the game and gave away their chance to the winning team to mark their first victory into the championship.
It was all too easy for Army team to break forward whereas KPK team’s defence looked like they were sleeping throughout the game as the winning team kept giving them warnings with netting goals one by one.
IG (Police), Retd Khalid Latif was the Guest of Honor who graced the event along with District Education Officer, Shehzad Haroon Bhutta and Vice Chairman Special Olympics Pakistan, Anis Ur Rehman.
