Sarah Mahboob win the Subh-e-Nau National Tennis Tournament title

Former Pakistan No 1 tennis player Sarah Mahboob clinched Subh-e-Nau Ladies National Tennis Tournament ladies singles title which concluded at PSB Tennis Courts Islamabad.

Veteran female tennis player Sarah Mahboob clinched the Subh-e-Nau Women’s National Tennis Tournament title which concluded at PSB Tennis Courts Islamabad. 

Former Pakistan No 1 tennis player Sarah defeated Sara Mansoor 6-3, 6-3 in a well-fought final, which swung both ways and the spectators enjoyed the tennis on offer between two seasoned players.Sarah received Rs 50,000 as prize money with memento and certificate. Women’s Singles Runner-Up Sara Mansoor received Rs 30,000 with memento and certificate.

Earlier in Media Singles Final, Arif Mehmood of K2 TV won the title after beating Afzal Mahmood of BOL TV in a well contested match. Winner of this category received Rs 15,000 while the runner up was awarded Rs 9,000. In Girls U-10 final, Zainab Ali Raja beat Esha Zia in straight sets.

Inter Provincial Coordination Minister Dr Fehmida Mirza graced the concluding ceremony as chief guest. Sharing her views, Dr Fehmida said:

"Our females are not lesser than any given international athlete. Sports are way behind in the country and Asian Games results are no secret to anyone.”

Chairperson Subh-e-Nau Shahida Kausar Farooq thanked the chief guest, players, officials and sponsors for this successful event. She said we need more sponsors to continue our efforts.

After the closing ceremony, Federal Minister Dr. Fehmida Mirza planted a citrus tree with players and officials. Taimur Shah, Head Public Sector Deposit North Bank of Punjab, Humayun Saifullah and others also attended the closing ceremony.
