Asiam Ul Haq with Santiago advance into quarterfinals of Chengdu Open 2018
Asiam Ul Haq with partner Santiago Gonzalez defeated USA pair by 2-1 to enter into the Quarterfinal of Chengdu Open 2018 in Chengdu, China.
Pakistan tennis ace Aisam Ul Haq along with Santiago Gonzalez from Mexico put a shiny start in Chengdu Open 2018 campaign as they edges out duo of Taylor Harry Fritz & Bradley Klahn of USA by 2-1 in 1 hour 14 minutes match to book berth into quarterfinal round of Chengdu 2018.
4th seeded PAK-MEX pair held their serves to won the opening set as they break 4th and 5th serves of unseeded USA pair to comfortably win it by 6-2 in just 29 minutes.
In the 36 minutes second set, the american pair gave tough time to Asiam-Santiago with some good serving as they gave away no easy points on their serve and built pressure on the opposition which resulted as a break in the 4th game to lead at 3-4. USA pair played marvelously as they held their serves to equalize the lead at 1-1 with the score of 4-6.
In the super set, Asiam and Santiago came back strongly and broke all the middle serves of USA pair to take full control over the match as they cruised to 9-1 lead and winning the super-set by 10-2.
PAK-MEX pair will next face unseeded pair of Mischa Zverev & Matthew Ebden at 12:30pm (PST).
