Sindh bags PFF National U-15 Football Championship crown

Sindh named the crown of the PFF National U-15 Football Championship by beating Punjab through penalty shootouts in the final match which was played at Punjab Stadium in Lahore.

Sindh and Punjab Football Teams played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the final match of PFF National U-15 Football Championship. Players from both teams tried their best to score against the other side but the score-line remained at 2-2 goals for each side till the end of scheduled time.

Wasif of Punjab took the 5th minute lead through a field score and Hammad later doubled their lead in the 47th minute. Although Punjab seemed to be winning the final game but Sindh did not stay behind for any longer and hit back through Mohib Ullah opening the tally for the winning team in the 53rd minute into the match. The match finished in a 2-2 draw result as Aamir of Sindh Football Team leveled the score-line in the 66th minute.

Penalty shootout therefore determined the outcome of the game. The final part of the match was a superb showing by Sindh Football Team which took the lead on goals by securing 4 goals on 5 penalty kicks whereas Punjab stayed behind with a margin of 3 failing to claim the victory of the championship.

Winner team Sindh was awarded with 300,000 PKR while runner-up Punjab bagged 200,000 PKR. Third position went to Islamabad pocketing 100,000 PKR. Fair play trophy with 40,000 rupees was awarded to FATA, Bismillah Khan proved to be the best player from Balochistan in the championship who also, was awarded with 40,000 PKR. Top scorer was named Mudassar Nazir of Sindh and was given 30,000 PKR. Punjab’s Muhammad Awais recieved 30,000 PKR for proving to be the Best Goal Keeper throughout the championship.

Talking to the media President of PFF Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat said, “Youth competitions are necessary for national football. No country can get fresh talent for the future without development of the game at grass root level. PFF is providing every opportunity to junior footballers. Emerging stars have been spotted in this event. Players’ pool will be looked after well and good facilities await these youngsters. These players will take the Pakistan Football on the rise,”

President of PFF, Sayed Faisal Saleh Hayat along with Vice President PFF & President Punjab FA, Sardar Naveed Haider Khan and General Secretary, Col. (R) Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi, Head Coach Joze Noguiera, Captain Pakistan National Team Saddam Hussain, Physical Trainer of National Team Beto Portella and Secretary Sindh FA, Rahim Baloch presented the trophy to the winner and distributed prizes among the top performers of the event.
