Major Tufail Shaheed XI and Major Shabbir Shaheed XI to compete in the final of KBBA Defence Day Basketball Tournament 2018
Major Tufail Shaheed and Major Shabbir Shaheed Teams beat their respective opponents qualifying for the final match of KBBA Defence Day Basketball Tournament 2018 which is being played at Arambagh Court, Karachi.
Major Tufail Shaheed Eleven Basketball Team battled with Major Akram Shaheed Eleven’s team in the first semi-final beating the opponent in a thrilling match by 53-41. The players of the winning team displayed a splendid game making their way into the final stage. Team as a whole worked hard enough to claim this victory with Talha Amjad proving to be the key player scoring 19 points whereas Haroon Khan made 12 shots and Mohammad Shabbir with just one point behind, made 11 shots in total.
For the losing side, the leading scorers were Osama Khan shooting 12 points into the basket while Shameer Zaheer made 11 and Tariq Khan with scored points.
Where as in the second semi-final, Major Shabbir Shaheed Eleven Basketball Team outplayed Captain Sarwar Shaheed Eleven’s team in a nail-biting match by 49-46 on a close call. Both the teams charged themselves at the basket performing with remarkable foot-work making full effort to secure the win for qualifying into the final of the tournament for their team.
However, the winning team player’s accuracy was too much for the losing team to catch up to as Hammad ND Khan proved to be the most talented player shooting 19 shots into the basket. Whereas Abdullah Khan made 18 shots while Raja Jahanzeb scored 8 points causing shockwaves for the losing team.
The losing team did tried to bring some heat into the game from their side through Raj Kumar making 14 shots but he alone was not enough to beat the opponent team. Adeel Ahmed with 10 points and Talal Ahmed scoring 10 points did also contribute in the game-play for their team. 46 points in total against the 49 points of the wining team was a close call but the points still did not prove enough as the winning team came out on the top.
The tournament will conclude today as the final will be held at 07:30 PM in the light of Managing Director Advance Seeds Corporation Ather Ali Khanzada, who will be the chief guest at Armabagh Basketball Court in Karachi.
