Major Tufail Shaheed and Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed teams advance into the semi-finals of KBBA Defence Day Basketball Tournament 2018
Major Tufail Shaheed XI and Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed XI defeated their opponents to qualify for the semi-finals of KBBA Defence Day Basketball Tournament 2018 held at Arambagh Basketball Court, Karachi.
The Major Tufail Shaheed Eleven team players, seeking their way to the semi-finals showed flawless performance as they beat the opponent team Major Sawar Hussain Shaheed Eleven on 52-36. It took 18 points from Talha Amjad and Ali Chanzeb with 12 scoring the top-most points cruising their team towards victory in the first match of the day. Agha Ibrahim made 7 shots into the basket and became one of the main scorers for the winners.
As for the team lost, Saad Khan and Mark both shot 13 points each but could not get their team into the semi-final stage of the game.
Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed Eleven’s basketball team made their way into the semi-finals completely sweeping the opponent team Major Mohammad Akram Shaheed Eleven by 60-41. The winning team’s players showed excellent foot-work with shooting at the basket confidently and paced their team in to the semi-finals gaining the win of the second match in the day. Cheen made 24 dubs while Hamza Khan shot 12 points and Abdullah scored 8 baskets becoming the top scorers who potentially made the team hire of the match.
None of the players from Major Sawar Hussain Shaheed Eleven succeeded in surprising with their game-play as they lost by 52-36 to the opponent team. Shameer Zaheer shot 14 points, Syed Bakhtiar Ahmed 8 points and Mohammad Asim was able to basket only 6 points failing at their ability to win the victory for their team.
The winning teams of the semi finals, seeking the title of KBBA Defence Day Basketball Tournament 2018 will battle in the final match on 15th September at the Arambagh Basketball Court in Karachi.
