Mini Margalla Eco Marathon on 9th September
Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) is organizing a mini race on 9th of September in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) is organizing a mini marathon sponsored by Sustainable Tourism Foundation Pakistan, Margalla Hills National Park and Himalayan Wildlife Foundation in order to raise awareness for protection, preservation and promotion of Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP).
The event is open to all citizens and so far 150 citizens have confirmed their participation in the race. This awareness marathon will take place along Damn-e-Koh, the route would start from Marghzar Zoo to Damn-e-Koh and back to Maraghzar zoo. Age limit set for the event is above 16 years with an entry fee of 100 PKR per person.
The tickets were available at Dino Park, Marghzar Zoo and entrance of Trails-5 and Trail-3 and those who could not get entry coupons can still take part and get their tickets on the spot on 9th September.
IWMB have announced a prize money of 10,000, 6,000 and 3,000 PKR for the first, second and third position holders whereas certificates to all the participants will be also be awarded.
The IWMB official said that Islamabad Wildlife Management Board will provide all the necessary support including financial and logistics to arrange the recreational activities besides deploying the volunteers for security purpose. The marathon would start at 07:00 AM sharp.
