Jibran ul Haq Son of Former Davis Cupper Hameed ul Haq wins NBP Twin City Tennis Championship
In the Men Singles final Jibran ul haq thrash Musa Choudhry by 6-1, 6-2 in the NBP Twin City Tennis Championship at the Islamabad Tennis Complex courts from 31st August to 5th September.
Islamabad Tennis Complex organized the NBP Twins City Tennis Championship in which tennis players from Rawalpindi and Islamabad participated to show case their skills. The six days long championship was sponsored by National Bank of Pakistan NBP.
In the Men Singles final Jibran ul Haq son of former tennis great Davis Cupper Hameed-ul-Haq was in a good nick as he did not allow his opponent Musa Choudhry to play freely and continued his aggressive approach to win the first set by 6-1 as he break 2nd,4th and 6th games of Musa.
Jibran showed his class and despite taking a long off from tennis, as he was completing his studies, Jibran showed he had the blood of great champion Hameed and simply eases past Musa in the second set by 6-2 to win the men’s singles title.
In the juniors final Zalan Khan overpower Musa Choudhry to win the title with the final score line of 6-0, 6-3.
Pakistan Tennis Federation Patron Senator Dilawar Abbas, who is also lifetime Senior Vice President of Asian Tennis Federation, was the chief guest on the occasion. Senator Dilawar lauded Fazle-Subhan CEO, Islamabad Tennis Complex for putting up a remarkable job of holding regular tennis events and providing youngsters opportunities. “I am very happy to see so many young and old playing tennis, while females also participated, which I feel the best part of the event as female tennis is disappearing fast in Pakistan”.
While sharing his views former Davis Cup coach, Subhan thanked players, media and Senator Dilawar for sparing time. He promised to conduct the next edition of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Tennis Championship in grand style. Later the chief guest distributed prizes amongst the winners.
