Arshad Nadeem wins bronze medal for Pakistan in Javelin throw

Arshad Nadeem wins Pakistan's 3rd Bronze medal in Asian Games 2018 with a javelin throw of 80.75m.

 

Arshad Nadeem from Khanewal wins Bronze medal at 18th Asian Games in Men's Javelin Throw with a distance of 80.75m.

This medal is also the 1st Athletics medal in 24 years at Asian Games. Aqarab ABBAS claimed bronze in the men's hammer throw in 1994.

Arshad also made new national record with this distance and improved the previous record which he made earlier in the year at Gold Coast (Commonwealth) games with a distance of 80.45m.

Arshad managed to throw the distance of 80.75m on his 4th attempt but could not improve it further on the next two attempts.

Neeraj Chopra won gold with a distance of 88.06m, followed by Chinese Qizhen LIU with his personal best  for silver at 82.22m.
