Pakistan beat Kazakhstan 16-0 to mark 3rd win in Asian Games Hockey
Pakistan dominated Kazakhstan by 16-0 to register 3rd consecutive win in Asian Games 2018 Hockey in Indonesian.
18th Asian Games 2018 Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, JakartaPakistan hockey team registered their third straight victory of the 18th Asian Games, this time making Kazakhstan the victim of their free scoring.
Muhammad Toseeq Arshad scored the opening goal for Pakistan through penalty corner in the second minute of the match. Green shirts displayed remarkable performance as Muhammad Dilber scored the second goal in 7th minute while Ali Shan netted another in the 13th to further enhance the lead by 3-0. Muhammad Umer Bhutta scored another goal just before the end of 1st period to make it 4-0.
Pakistan side continued to attack Kazakhastan goal as they made several attempts which were saved by the goalkeeper. The second period remained mostly calm but heroics from Mahboob Abu Bakar towards the end of second period resulted in 2 goals in the last 2 minutes to make it 6-0.
In the energetic third period, Pakistani players continued their aggressive play as they did not allow Kazakhstan’s team to score any goal. Three minutes into the 3rd period, Muhammad Toseeq Arshad scored his second goal of the match from a panelty corner. Ali Shan then scored in the 38th minute which was immediately followed by Abu Bakar Mahmood’s hat trick goal in the same minute to further enhance the lead to 9-0.
The forth quarter saw a barrage of goals from Pakistan with 7 more goals being scored in the quarter. Muhammad Toseeq Arshad successfully converted the penalty stroke to complete his hat trick in the 46th minute of last period to make it 10-0. Rizwan Ali nailed two consecutive goal in the 51st and 55th minute while another goal through penalty corner at 54th minute. Muhammad Umar Bhutta scored the 13th goal in the 58th minute following by next minute goal from Muhammad Atiq. Muhammad Toseeq Arshad successfully converted a panelty corner in the 59th min while Mubashar Ali scored another one in the dying moments of the match.
This win for Pakistan is the third consecutive win, all with huge margins, without conceding a single goal in the tournament so far.
Pakistan will now face Malaysia on 26th August at 6:00pm (PST) in Asian Games 2018.
