Pakistan Boxing Federation names squad for Asian Games 2018

PBF has announced a 10 member squad for Asian Games 2018 which is to be held from 18th August in Jakarta, Indonesia.

10 member team has been selected by Pakistan Boxing Federation to participate in the 18th Asian Games. The boxing squad will depart on 20th August for Jakarta from Lahore.

The selected boxers under the male category are:
  1. Mohib Ullah (Light flyweight)
  2. Syed Muhammad Asif (Flyweight)
  3. Naqib Ullah (Bantamweight)
  4. Tanveer Ahmed (Middleweight)
  5. Saleem Baloch (64 kg)
  6. Gul Zaib (69 kg)

The team will be accompanied by former boxing champion Ali Baksh Baloch and Arshad Hussian as coaches. Also two female boxers Razia Bano from Sindh and Rukhsana from Lahore will be participating in the women’s category for the first time in the Asian Games.

Total 18 boxers were given tough training and after strict sparing these 8 boxers are selected on the basis of their performances in the 2 month long training camp that was held in Islamabad to test their abilities and to decide on the players who will be representing Pakistan in the Asian Games.
