Pakistan Continues their winning run in South Asian Games 2016
Pakistan takes their medal tally to 17 including 2 gold 6 Silver and 9 bronze medals. India leads the medal table with astonishing 33 gold medals.
Pakistan continues their
winning run in the South Asian Games 2016 by taking their medal tally to 17.
Pakistan bags 2 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 9 bronze medals to keep
themselves at the 3rd spot in the overall medal tally. India top the
charts by whooping 33 gold, 12 silver and 3 bronze medals. Siri Lanka remains
at the 2nd spot in the overall medal tally with 43 medals including 8 gold, 20
silver and 15 bronze medals.
In squash, Farhan Zaman defeated world number 18 India’s Sauruv Ghosal in the semi-final in the South Asian Games 2016 in Guwati on Sunday. Nasir Iqbal also made it to the final by defeating Indian Harindar Singh to ensure all -Pakistan final.
In swimming Lianna Swan won the first Gold medal for Pakistan in 200m Breaststroke and a Bronze medal in 4 x 100 Freestyle Relay. Lianna Swan also won a medal in 100m Breaststroke while Naveed Hussain won bronze medal for Pakistan in 200m Backstroke.
In wrestling Mohammad Inam won a gold medal for the country in 86 Kg category wrestling as he defeated Indian Gopal Yadav in the final. Mohammad Bilal and Nadir won 2 silver medals for the country in 57 kg and 65 kg category respectively.
Abduallah Ghafoor of Pakistan won a bronze medal as he finished third in 56 kg weightlifting event
In table tennis Pakistan's Women team won a silver medal and the Men team won a bronze medal.
Another bronze for the country went to Sabiha Bibi in the 30m individual time trial cycling event at the Lakshmi Bai National Institute of Physical Education. She clocked 50:10.598 to secure the third spot.
