Pakistan loses semi-final of the 2018 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship
WAPDA (Pakistan) lost to ATYRAU VC (Kazakhstan) by 2-3 in the semi final of the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.
WADPA representing Pakistan in the 2018 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship managed to win the first and fourth set against the rival ATYRAU VC (Kazakhstan) while losing the other three sets with a match score line of 14-25, 32-30, 25-16, 18-25, and 15-11.
Pakistan team played like a unit and number of good performances were shown by the side. Sheraz, Raza Mubashir, Khan Aimal and Jehan Murad scored 10, 16, 18 and 20 points in the overall match which resulted in a narrow loss to Kazakhstan. Netalin Aibat spearheaded the Kazakhstan attack by scoring a total of 23 points finishing as the match's top scorer in his team's victory.
WAPDA had previously defeated Toray Arrows of Japan, China’s Sichuan, Asia World Club from Myanmar and Turkmenistan’s Binagar Club but was handed its first loss of the tournament by the Kazakhstan side. WAPDA will compete against Vietnam club Sanset Khanh Hoa who lost to Iran’s Khalam Ardakan in the other semi-final, for the 3rd place play-off today.
