Matloob Ahmed seals the win in 20th Sindh Open Golf Championship

Matloob Ahmed of Lahore Garrison won the Sindh Open Golf Championship 2018 at the Arabian Sea Country Club, Karachi

Matloob Ahmed won the title of the 20th Sindh Open Golf Championship with a score of 69, 65 and 70 a three days aggregate of 204, twelve under par, showing an overall astonishing performance.

Pakistan top seed Mohammad Shabir Iqbal from Islamabad Club was not able to defend his title which could have resulted in his fourth consecutive win in the 20th Sindh Open Golf Championship and lost with a total of 211.

Among the top golfers who performed well in the championship and won first, second and third positions in seniors – junior professionals, amateurs and ladies golfers includes:

Kashif Masih of Lahore Garrison won the junior professional title with a total of 144 points

Ahmed Baig won the first place in amateur with 218 points

Taimoor Khan of Peshawar took the 2nd place in the amateur category with 219 points

Hamza Shikho Khan from Karachi Golf Club with 147 points, took the first place in the Junior Amateur category

Junaid Irfan of DHA won second while Damil Ataullah of Lahore Garrison was placed third.

Muhammad Akram from Lahore Gymkhana won the senior professional title with an aggregate of 140 points

Imdad Hussain of Lahore Garrison shared the 2nd position scoring 141 with Mehmood Hussain of Islamabad.

In the ladies category, Aania Farooq won with 149 and Anam Zehra was placed second with 190 points while Shahida Ismail from Karachi Golf Club won third position with 192 points.

Lt Gen Mian Hilal Hussain, President Pakistan Golf Federation, Asad I.A Khan, President Sindh Golf Association and Arif Abbasi, CEO Arabian Sea Country Club, were the reputable guests to distribute prizes among the golfers.
